Frameshield 100 and the Terracade Façade System

Details

Frameshield 100 is a tested and warranted integral part of the AustralBricks Terraçade Façade System. A secondary water resistant layer is required to drain any moisture that pentrates the façade. The complete system was tested in accordance with clauses 7.5 and 7.6 of AS/NZS 4284:1995 to simulate wind driven rain conditions under cyclical wind pressure. A full test report is available here on the AustralBricks Terracade website.

Frameshield 100, re-branded in 2010 as ProctorWrap HP, is a spun bonded polypropylene material developed primarily as a breather membrane for use in timber and steel frame wall construction. ProctorWrap HP affords effective protection during construction and for the life of the building against rain, snow and dust. ProctorWrap HP is a highly durable, strong and lightweight textile membrane that is silent when exposed to wind and will last the lifetime of the building even in corrosive coastal environments.

Unlike most foil products, the high water vapour permeability of ProctorWrap HP allows for the controlled escape of vapour from within the building whilst restricting the ingress of moisture. All Proctor Roofshield and ProctorWrap breathable (vapour permeable) membranes have a vapour resistance of not more than 0.5 MNs/g when tested to AS/NZS 4200.1.

ProctorWrap HP will help protect the building fabric and insulation from condensation and related problems such as mould, timber rot, corrosion and loss of thermal resistance.

Installation Notes

Standard installation details are available here>>

ProctorWrap HP is not to be used in open joint rain screen cladding installations where it could be exposed to long term UV radiation. For such applications we recommend ProctorWrap Black Label.

ProctorWrap HP can not be used to provide a continuous airtight layer required for pressure-equalised rain screen cladding systems. In such applications ProctorWrap Air Tight is recommended.

Windows

Run ProctorWrap HP over openings and leave covered until fenestrations are to be installed. Cut the membrane on a 45°diagonal from each corner of the opening, fold the flaps inside and fix to the inside frame of the opening. A complete water tight seal is achieved at penetrations by installation of either ProctorWrap Corners or a proprietary flexible butyl flashing tape. Advice on accessories and suitable tape specifications for specific applications is available from Proctor Group Australia. ProctorWrap HP alone is not a suitable substitute for window flashings.
