Profloor Dynamic Strip System, is designed for new build and the refurbishment of existing timber floors, is nailed or stapled, using the fixing lugs provided, to the timber joists.
Significant improvement in Impact Sound Insulation can be obtained when using Profloor Dynamic Strip System under the chosen floor finish.
The Profloor Dynamic Strip System utilises the same advanced foam technology as the Profloor Dynamic Battens, to provide an impact isolation superior to that achieved using fibre quilt.
Profloor Dynamic Strip has been developed in conjunction with Building Scientists at Heriot - Watt University.
The use of Profloor Support Strip is recommended around the perimeter of all rooms and in areas such as bathrooms and kitchens where the load could exceed 1.4KN.
The 3rd element of the Dynamic Strip System is the use of a 5mm Profloor Flanking Strip to isolate the acoustic floor from the wall and skirting board.
Recommendations
Mechanical fixings must not be used with this product with the exception of the fixing lugs. The plasterboard plank, or selected floor finish must be bonded to the Profloor Dynamic Strip using Profloor PVA adhesive.
We recommend that tongued and grooved flooring is bonded using Profloor adhesive.
It is intended that under normal domestic load the double foam system will compress by between 6mm - 8mm.
