Dunbar House, located on the beautiful shores of Sydney’s Watson Bay, is a historic mansion built in the 1830’s, currently undergoing a multi-million dollar restoration that will see it re-open in 2011 as one of Sydney’s most stylish and sophisticated event venues.

Having recently changed ownership, Dunbar House is now owned and operated by The Tea Room Group, proprietors of acclaimed Sydney venues The Tea Room QVB, The Tea Gunners’ Barracks and Sergeants’ Mess. With a reputation for transforming historic Sydney buildings into stunning event venues, Dunbar House will cater for events from 16 to 160 people. Lavishly restored to capture the classic elegance of the 1830’s era, Dunbar house will feature hand made glittering crystal chandeliers imported from the Czech republic, antique marble fireplaces, antique mirrors and Catherine Martin carpets. It will also offer state of the art audio visual technology throughout, including wide-screen projectors, plasma screens, wireless internet access and conference call facilities. With breath taking views over Watsons Bay, pristine local beaches and the dazzling city skyline, Dunbar House is truly a world-class event venue.

Installed as a secondary drainage layer behind the weatherboard exterior cladding, ProctorWrap HP was specified to help protect this picturesque building from condensation and related problems such as mould, timber rot, corrosion and loss of thermal resistance.

ProctorWrap HP is a spun bonded polypropylene material developed primarily as a breather membrane for use in timber frame constructions. Highly durable, strong and lightweight textile membrane, ProctorWrap HP is silent when exposed to wind and will last the lifetime of the building even in corrosive coastal environments.

Unlike foil products, the high water vapour permeability of ProctorWrap HP allows for the controlled escape of vapour from within the building whilst restricting the ingress of moisture, allowing the building
to breathe.

Features:

  • high vapour permeability
  • true breathability designed with air permeability
  • unaffected by typical timber treatments
  • tested and compliant with to AS/NZS 4200.1
  • 100% recyclable
  • mould resistant
